They are secured with best grade microcrystalline wax the same as used in the Renaissance Wax British Museum. Copper will age gradually and beautifully with time. Soft cloth, mild soap, and tepid water is good for maintaining. Put on wax each year, if you desire to slow the ageing process. Certain foods (such as ketchup, mustard) and acids may cause changes to the tint.
